Info

Who am I?

I am a 28 – year – old musician who tells stories through sound.

I like jazz, electronic, metal…well actually, there’s something to like in every  genre of music.

I live and do business in Chicago. I’m from Houston, TX.

Why "apogii"?

I use the alias “apogii” for my online presence and for personal releases. Apogii is a respelling of apogee, which means “highest point” and also relates to when the moon is furthest from earth.

I like to aim for the highest degree of skill, expression, etc. and chose my name to reflect my astronomically sized ambitions.

Also apogii sounds cute so I’m keeping it until I think of a better name.

What Tools Do You Use?

Here’s a partial list of tools I use regularly:

REAPER, Pro Tools, Kontakt Libraries, Arturia Libraries, Melodyne, Auto-Tune, Roland Keyboards and Synths,  UAD Apollo Twin, Neumann KH 120 Monitors and 750 Sub, Serum Synth, Izotope, Soundtoys … and many other toys.

What's your experience in video games?

I’ve composed for:

Tap To Escape: A One-Button Adventure (2016)

ARocket Lander (2021)

Medieval Darkness (In Development)

Almanach: Of Empires and Sorcery (In Development)

And plenty of game jams and hobby projects in between of many genres.

I’ve primarily made looping background music for in-game levels and menus, but also have worked with Wwise , an audio middleware engine to create dynamic music that adapts to game states.

My preferred style is cute, quirky, Nintendo vibes. Think Danny Baranowsky or Calum Bowen. I also have done soundtracks in the style of FTL: Faster than Light.

If you have a project that needs a score to help tell your story – I’d be happy to chat.
